Wondering how to spend your weekend? The sun in shining and the beach is calling so why not take Hasan Sabir’s advice and spend the day in Bray? In his first appearance on the blog, Pakistani Student Ambassador Hasan tells us why he thinks Bray is the ideal location for a day out!
Being a student in a foreign land makes things very different because, along with adjusting to a new place, we are also trying to get the maximum out of our stay. When it comes to the weekend, try to plan things carefully to make the most of what free time you have. As international students, we are either working or exploring new places on the weekends. If you are in Dublin and want to get away from busy city life and take a breath of fresh air with scenic views of the sea over a stunning walking trail then you should go to Bray. If you are lucky enough to get a sunny day over the weekend Bray is the ideal place to visit.
Bray is located about twelve miles south of Dublin. It is in such a perfect place that it is considered a base camp for various hikes and walks. Irrespective of your abilities, you can choose a trail option that suits you. If you want to walk along the side of the pebbly beach there is a mile-long promenade. The beach is only a 2-minute walk from DART station and a 10-minute walk from Bray main street. To get incredible views of Bray, a walk to Bray Head is a must. A hike to Bray head is not very difficult but some parts can be challenging for new hikers. However, a breathtaking view of the ocean on one side and the Sugarloaf and Wicklow Mountains on the other is worth all the efforts to climb up to Bray Head. It is always amazing to see various shades of blue water from the top of Bray Head.
There are multiple activities that can be carried out in Bray such as surfing and swimming at the beach. There are various ice cream and fast food shops to get your lunch. You can also find good transport connections; Dublin Bus and the DART both to go to Bray.
So folks, what are you waiting for? Plan your day out to Bray and open yourself to the beauty of nature!!
