“Where the sun and rain are playing there to create a rainbow for little happy people.”

Discovering the wonders of Kerry through the eyes of our incredible Student Ambassador, Niya Zhang from China.

I am from a Chinese city, Chengdu, which has another name ‘Hometown of Pandas’ You may not know where this town is, but you must have heard of “Kung Pao Chicken”, yes. it’s my hometown dish! As an EI Ambassador and a blogger. I have lots of things share to with you.

Kerry is a beautiful city in the southwest of Ireland. 6 months ago, I come there for my Master’s Degree. The following information shows some interesting experiences of my study and life in Ireland:

The Weather of Ireland, ‘A Free and Fickle Child’
When I go back home from school I will pass through an open grass field.
If you look up inadvertently, you will encounter a little surprise because the wind from the North Atlantic will bring a huge number of fantastic clouds. Where the sun and rain are playing there to create a rainbow for little happy people.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, I usually stroll the downtown with my friends. Various street artists are playing music, magic and juggling which making cheers and laughter from the audience.

Grabbing an ice cream was a collision of ice and wind in the chilly winds of Killarney, Which town is also in Kerry, but it is more bustling and lively. There are very traditional horse-drawn carriages, and even horse-drawn carriages will wait for traffic lights with cars, which is very cute.

Dublin is one of the best-preserved capital I’ve ever seen.Meanwhile.the modern Christmas Window display of the street shops also caught my eye strongly. The cute Santa Claus doll is dressed in gold, and more various dolls are dressed up in the Christmas Window.

Especially, on the way to travel to the ring of Kerry, I saw the Irish goat with a black face the same as the cartoon ”Shaun the Sheep”, and I photographed this cute doll in the gift shop, it was super cute!

However, the Christmas Window display of the street shops caught my eye strongly. The cute Santa Claus doll is dressed in gold, and more various dolls are dressed up in the Christmas Window. Not only the Christmas Window but also everywhere is filled with a holiday atmosphere. This is my first experience of a traditional Christmas, and it makes me a new understanding of Ireland’s religion and culture. When it comes to religion, I have to introduce the church building in Ireland, where are preserved a few ancient church buildings, and their history can be traced back to 1500 AD. Different from the magnificence and solemnity of the churches after the Middle Ages, these ancient buildings are made of natural stones with simple forms. Compare with churches in ornate Deco style such as Gothic or Edwardian, these simple and rustic ancient churches can make people feel the pure spiritual power and philosophical culture in religion.

Trinity College Dublin (TCD), the best university in Ireland, is home to the ancient library, which is also a Harry Potter filming location and a must-see for a big fan of Harry Potter.

Being able to come to Ireland to study has given me so many discoveries and experiences in life, and every day is a fulfilling and happy time.
